Spanify Terms of Service

Effective date: 9 February 2026 · Version: 1.0

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and SPANIFY LIMITED (“Spanify”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and apply to your use of the Spanify app, the website at spanify.co, and related services (together, the “Service”).

By creating an account, using the Service, or tapping “I agree”, you agree to these Terms.

1) Who we are

Company: SPANIFY LIMITED
Company number: 16788776
Registered office: Studio 73, 27 St. Anns Road, London, England, W11 4ST
Email: info@spanify.co

UK data protection fee reference (ICO): C1875290

2) Eligibility and age

You must be old enough to use the Service in your country:

  • If you are in the UK, you must be at least 13.
  • If you are in the EEA (EU/EEA), you must be at least 16.
  • If you are outside the UK and the EEA, you must be at least 16.

If we learn that you do not meet the minimum age for your location, we may suspend or close your account.

You must also meet any higher minimum age that applies in your country.

3) Your account

3.1 Account information

You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity on your account.

3.2 Passwords

You must keep your password confidential. If you believe your account was compromised, contact us at info@spanify.co.

3.3 Account security

We may take reasonable steps to protect the Service and users, including limiting suspicious login activity and requiring password resets where needed.

4) What the Service does

Spanify is a focus and productivity tool. It can include:

  • focus sessions and focus metrics,
  • training exercises,
  • blocker features (where supported by your device),
  • community features such as leaderboards (where enabled),
  • AI coaching suggestions (where enabled).

5) Important: not medical advice

Spanify is not a medical service. We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Any suggestions, training content, or AI coaching are for general guidance and productivity support only. If you have a medical concern, speak to a qualified professional.

6) Blocker features and permissions

Some features require OS permissions and system settings. If you do not grant permissions, parts of the Service may not work.

6.1 Android permissions we may use

To provide blocker functionality on Android, we may ask you to enable:

  • Usage access (to detect app usage),
  • Accessibility service (to support blocking and enforcement),
  • Display over other apps (overlay) (where available).

6.2 iOS permissions we may use

On iOS, blocker functionality uses Apple’s frameworks such as:

  • Screen Time and FamilyControls (where available and permitted).

6.3 Installed apps list

On Android, the Service may access information about installed applications so you can select what to block. We do not store your full installed-app list on our servers.

6.4 Blocked list syncing

To sync your blocker settings across devices, our backend may store the list of apps/sites you chose to block. Today, the stored payload is limited to:

  • package name,
  • app name,
  • app icon data.

We do not upload “block attempt history” at this stage.

6.5 No guarantee of perfect blocking

Blocking can be limited by your device, OS updates, permissions, battery settings, and third-party apps. We do not guarantee that blocking will work in every scenario.

7) AI coaching (if enabled)

7.1 What it is

If you use AI coaching features, you receive suggestions. You remain responsible for your decisions and actions.

7.2 What you should not share

Do not share sensitive information in AI chat (for example health details, government IDs, banking details, or anything you would not want stored).

7.3 Storage and retention

AI chat content is stored in our backend database hosted on AWS (London, UK) and retained for 30 days by default (unless you delete earlier or we must keep something longer for legal/security reasons).

Access to AI chat content is restricted to authorised admin/dev roles for support and maintenance.

7.4 Deleting AI chat history

If you delete AI chat history, chat messages are deleted immediately from our systems. They are fully removed from backups as backups rotate (typically within about 30 days).

7.5 AI providers

We call AI providers directly via their APIs (for example OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic). At launch, we do not use your data for training by those providers (subject to provider terms and your configuration). If this changes, we will update our Privacy Policy.

8) Community features (if enabled)

If community features are enabled:

  • your profile may be visible to other users depending on your settings,
  • you may have a display name and a short bio.

8.1 Community rules

You must not:

  • harass, threaten, or abuse other users,
  • post illegal content,
  • impersonate others,
  • try to manipulate leaderboards (cheating, automation, exploitation).

8.2 Enforcement

We may restrict or remove access to community features if you break these rules. A community ban does not necessarily remove access to the core app.

9) Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law using the Service,
  • attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or bypass security,
  • interfere with the Service (for example, attacks, scraping, automated abuse),
  • use the Service to harm others.

We may suspend or terminate accounts involved in abuse or security risks.

10) Subscriptions, free trials, and payments

10.1 App Store / Google Play billing

If you subscribe through Apple App Store or Google Play:

  • billing is handled by Apple/Google,
  • your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled,
  • you must manage or cancel subscriptions in your store account settings.

10.2 Free trial

If we offer a free trial (for example 14 days), it converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends.

10.3 Pricing

Prices vary by region and are shown in the App Store / Google Play at purchase time.

10.4 Refunds

Refunds are handled under the relevant store’s policies, unless we tell you otherwise in writing. If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact the store first, and you can also contact us at info@spanify.co.

11) Changes to the Service

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features (including blocker, community, or AI features). We will try to give reasonable notice for changes that materially reduce paid features, where practical.

12) Intellectual property

We own the Service, including its software, branding, and content (excluding user content you provide). You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

You must not copy, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Service unless we permit it in writing.

13) Your content

If you provide content to the Service (for example a bio or messages), you:

  • keep ownership of your content,
  • give us a licence to host, display, and process it to operate the Service.

You are responsible for the content you provide.

14) Termination and suspension

You can stop using the Service at any time. You can request account deletion in-app or by emailing info@spanify.co.

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • you breach these Terms,
  • we must do so to comply with law,
  • we need to protect the Service or other users.

15) Disclaimers and limits of liability

15.1 No promise of outcomes

We do not promise that the Service will improve focus, productivity, grades, or any specific outcome.

15.2 Availability

The Service may sometimes be unavailable, slow, or have bugs. We will try to keep it running and fix issues, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

15.3 Liability limits (consumer-safe)

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • indirect or consequential losses,
  • loss of profit, business, or opportunity.

Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (or £0 if you used the Service for free), unless the law requires a higher amount.

16) Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. It is available at spanify.co/privacy.

17) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we will notify you in-app and/or by email where appropriate.

If you continue using the Service after the new Terms take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.

18) Governing law and courts

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute may be brought in the courts of England and Wales, unless consumer law in your country gives you a right to bring claims elsewhere.
